If you have extensive experience of embedding best practice in equality and diversity within large, complex organisations, you can really make your mark in this high profile role. Spanning some 4500 square miles, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service covers almost two thirds of Wales and employs around 1400 people, which includes 57 fire stations.
You will keep us at the forefront of excellence, as you monitor progress against agreed targets and standards for consultation, communication and access to services and information. To this end, you will liaise with local communities and interest groups, identify colleagues’ equality and diversity training needs, and quickly gain expertise in sourcing practical support, including grant aid for specialist assistance.
Your impact will be felt in everything we do, so you can expect an exceptionally high profile. Naturally, you are capable of leading positive action events to attract the interest of under-represented groups, maintaining effective partnerships with key commercial bodies and supporting the Corporate Head of Human Resources in recruitment programmes and generalist activity.
