The Senior HR Manager is a generalist HR role responsible for delivering the People strategy for London and supporting the agency to ensure it retains the best people. More specifically the role includes:
1. Leadership: Running the London HR department and managing the retention and payroll strand of the team to ensure they’re delivering an effective and efficient product to the rest of the agency.
2. Learning & Development: managing the delivery of the iris Academy CPD program – look out for new, innovative and cost effective training programmes and develop an annual iris academy plan that details the who, what and how much of our L&D activity for the year.
3. Comp & Bens: managing the company’s salary, reward & benefits programmes, including review and analysis of benefits uptake and a twice yearly salary & reward analysis paper
4. Performance Management: all employees benefit from personal development, career development, performance management and training. Provide advice and expertise on how to achieve the best in our people, enabling them to deliver on their potential. Support line managers with your employment law knowledge should performance management situations arise.
5. Employee Relations: providing advice and guidance in a range of areas, including: new starter inductions, employee reviews and objective setting, job descriptions, promotion criteria, employment law, company policies, general employee relations and leaver protocols.
Experience
We are looking for a tactical HR generalist with around 10 years of business experience under their belt, with at least 3 of those working within an HR environment. More specifically, they will have experience running an HR department, preferably within a creative industry and, will have been managing a team of at least 4 people. If from a more corporate background, but looking for an opportunity to work in a more creative environment, then it is imperative that they are able to demonstrate a creative and flexible approach in their attitude and aptitude.
It is essential that this individual is not only creative and strategic but is also strong on tactical delivery. The initial focus will be to improve our existing processes, while bringing their individual expertise to the table – we’re looking for stability. Working closely with the London MDs and reporting into the Group Talent Director, they will be responsible for running the London HR department and delivering on the People strategy for London, with opportunities to broaden that horizon to Group agencies within Europe.
For this role, it is important that this person engenders respect and likeability and, they must have gravitas, the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders, strong business acumen, financial understanding, time management and exceptional diplomatic skills. They will be career focused, with the next step being an HR Director level position at iris, on the London Board. We are looking to expand the team, so there is opportunity for this person to build their team around them, with one of their first duties being to recruit an HR Advisor/Manager level position, as additional support to the team.

N.B. The Senior HR Manager will not be responsible for any recruitment of talent, as this is managed separately within a different team.
