The series of four programmes takes a voyage of discovery around the world of work, ably steered by Bill Morris, former general secretary of the Transport and General Workers' Union. It's an excellent idea, so good that it justifies more time than the allotted half-hour per programme.
The programmes are built around real issues – job insecurity, reducing stress and absenteeism, work-life balance and long hours. If people are happy about working 45, 50 or more hours a week, why, as some participants pointed out, should they be discouraged?
