Roffey Park Institute has launched a leadership programme for HR and business leaders focusing on CSR and environmental issues.
The “Globally responsible leadership” programme, which will run from April to December, incorporates a three-day module followed by three sessions of two days each.
The institute is seeking eight organisations to take part in what it calls “action research” – implementing green strategies and reporting the results back to the group. Companies already signed up to the programme include News International and Southeastern Railway.
Peter Hamill, senior consultant at Roffey Park, told PM that the programme marked the transition of CSR from something that “a few troublemakers” thought about to an issue that was dealt with at board level. “The change that CSR brings to the world is that an organisation is now expected to live its values,” Hamill said. “It makes decision-making for leaders more complex because they have to consider more than simply making money.”
The programme is aimed at HR, OD and CSR professionals. For more information visit: www.roffeypark.com/global
