The army is to work with Stonewall to promote equality for gay soldiers. It is the 400th member of the gay rights charity’s Diversity Champions scheme, a forum for employers to discuss best practice in equality. Sir Richard Dannatt, head of the British Army, said: “Discrimination against those who are lesbian, gay or bisexual does not allow them to play a full part in operations.”
