Lawyers have criticised government plans for effectively replacing the dispute resolution procedures with the new Acas code of practice on disciplinary and grievance procedures. The code has drawn criticism for being no simpler than the dispute procedures, which had only three steps and were blamed for a 54 per cent rise in tribunal cases.
