When I read the CIPD annual Learning and Development survey report, I was disappointed. The same happened when I read the Learning and Skills Council’s report on the National Employers Skills Survey. Both reports tell us what is spent on learning in the UK. But neither looks at return on investment (ROI).
When money is tight, the learning and development budget is often one of the first things to be cut. Surely, therefore, these reports should be trying to show what business gets back.
