Apprenticeships work

In “Learning from the past?”, Andrew Smith, education and skills adviser at EEF, the manufacturers’ organisation, draws attention to the fact that lots of employers who already recruit apprentices are struggling to find people who are suitably qualified. This is a problem that we cannot afford to ignore if we are to be successful in closing the skills gap and meeting the government’s ambitious apprenticeship goals.
