Local authorities strike as airport walkouts are suspended

Strikes planned at Gatwick, Stansted and Manchester airports for bank holiday Monday have been called off.
Baggage handlers and check in staff working for ground services firm Swissport were going to take industrial action over two 24-hour periods next week in a dispute over pay, but walkouts were suspended after Acas-mediated talks between the firm and the GMB and Unite unions.
