More than 90 per cent of people with health problems could be helped back to work with good workplace management, according to research commissioned by the DWP. The study, carried out by the University of York, found that simple measures, such as proactive support and modifying work on a temporary basis, could help up to 60 per cent of the 2.6 million people currently claiming incapacity benefit to return to work.
