Taking important management decisions on the hoof may mean we get more work done in a day, but at what price? asks Rob Briner
Have you come across something called the speed-accuracy trade-off? If not, the clue is in the name. The principle is that for some – if not most – types of task, the faster you do it, the more likely you are to make a mistake.

Sometimes the trade-off is easy to see. Typing too quickly can result in immediate, obvious mistakes. But for other tasks this trade-off is much harder to see.
