Employers and unions consent to 3.4 per cent a year increase

Employers and unions have finally agreed a new national pay deal in Ireland – a 6 per cent increase over 21 months, or 3.4 per cent a year.
The deal, which followed nine days of intensive negotiations, provides for a three-month pay pause in the private sector and an eleven-month pause in the public sector.
