Bankers chalk down crisis and head for the classroom

No sooner does the dust settle after one bank collapses than another falls and kicks it all back up again. Like archaeologists waiting to start work on an unstable site, commentators, analysts and journalists are unsure where to begin a comprehensive survey of the damage to the nation’s financial sector.

Yet one thing has happened, and continues to happen, that is very tangible. People have lost their jobs. And in the so-called war for talent, these would be the inhabitants of the officers’ mess – those with top degrees from top universities, with some of the best workplace training schemes under their belts.
