Christmas spirit prevails despite recession

Most organisations will still provide a Christmas party or lunch for their staff this year, despite the impending recession, according to the CIPD’s Reward Management 2008 survey. Christmas spirit is more widespread in the private sector, where 77 per cent of firms are paying for festivities (down from 84 per cent last year), compared with 51 per cent of organisations in the voluntary sector and 24 per cent in the public sector.
