Managers at the beleaguered Child Benefit Office (CBO) no longer feel “beaten into a place where they did what they were told”, and it’s thanks to coaching.

Delegates at the CIPD’s annual conference heard that staff morale has increased and firmly moved the CBO, and its sister agency the Tax Credit Office, away from a command-and-control culture.
