Doing so could result in thousands of temporary job losses, says REC
The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) has urged the government to reconsider its plans to add VAT to the cost of taking on temporary and contract workers.

Although the tax concession for staff hire was only intended as a short-term measure, the REC estimates that removing it will add £400 million to employers’ costs at a time when businesses and the jobs market can least afford it.
