The announcement that the government may delay family-friendly legislation because of economic conditions has been met with concern by the CIPD.
The Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR) has confirmed that it is “looking afresh at the costs and benefits” of extending the right to request flexible working from parents of children under six to those under 16. The proposed increase in paid maternity leave could also be put on hold.
