I am not sure whether Tim Wood is being serious or sarcastic in suggesting that the CIPD should be renamed the “Chartered Institute for Human Resource Management” – I suspect it is the latter (“Name calling”, Letters, 4 September). But to state my position on this issue: as one of the members who joined from the Institute of Training and Development when it was merged with the Institute of Personnel Management
