Cap would stand alongside Labour’s points-based system

The new points-based system for non-EU migrant workers should work alongside an annual cap on migrants entering the UK, according to the Conservatives.
Damian Green, shadow minister for education, told delegates at his party’s conference in Birmingham that while the principal of the system – which the government is currently rolling out – is “rather good”, there should be a limit on numbers of migrants coming in.
