Alex Wilson

HR seemed a natural career path for me to follow. A lot of my family worked as trade unionists and shop stewards so as I grew up I developed an interest in industrial relations. After university I joined Ford’s graduate scheme and my first HR role was as a staff personnel officer in their advanced pilot plant.

I have genuinely enjoyed almost every job I have taken on. Dealing with industrial relations at Ford was almost second nature for me, the time I spent in the US with Grand Metropolitan helped me to develop a global perspective and at Guinness I had a natural affinity with the product. At BT it’s all about transformation.
