BT’s over-60s reject phased retirement

The majority of BT staff who work past 60 years of age prefer to work on in a full capacity rather than taking options for phased retirement, the company says.

The telecoms firm introduced the “Wind down” and “Step down” initiatives, allowing older staff to move into jobs with reduced responsibility or hours, following feedback from the workforce suggesting they wanted greater flexibility before retirement.
