Reward all the workforce

I read with interest “Are bonuses to blame for banking’s downward spiral?” (News, 16 October). I agree that reward strategies need to change and that this should not be restricted to the financial sector.

For years many organisations have struggled with unwieldy performance management systems that have meant the focus has been on administrating the process rather than the people.
 

It’s untenable to have a normal retirement age in public-sector schemes that is significantly different from the state retirement age
