Workers fear for their jobs as recession looms

Four out of five workers fear losing their jobs as the recession looms, while most struggle to live off their current salary, according to new research.

A survey of 2,000 workers found that 82 per cent do not feel their job is secure, up from 74 per cent in August, while 68 per cent said they were struggling on their current salary. As a result, two-thirds (67 per cent) of workers have considered taking on a second job, the survey by employment law firm Peninsula revealed.
