Agents win ageism case
Recruiters placing job adverts with ageist language may not be discriminating if they can show they consider every application, a tribunal ruled.
Margaret Keane, a 49-year old accountant, applied for a host of jobs that used terms such as “newly qualified” and “up to three years’ experience”. The tribunal dismissed all of her 21 claims.
