Difficult transitions

I agree with the article about the challenges for HR people in the public sector in managing change (“Public-sector HR staff frustrated by change weaknesses”).

Equipping managers as well as HR to cope well with newly merged organisations is a common need across the public sector, and this includes looking at their strategy, their team, integrating cultures and managing the changes.
 

It’s untenable to have a normal retirement age in public-sector schemes that is significantly different from the state retirement age
