The volume of tribunal claims has grown in the past 12 months and there is no indication that this trend will change – in fact, quite the reverse.
Continued restructuring and mass redundancies are likely to lead to more disputes and increased employment litigation. If employees fear their prospects of finding another job in the current market are poor, they may be more willing to run the risk of suing their former employer if they think there may be something to gain from it.
