Snow laughing matter for employers

Weather warnings, school closures, commuter chaos – the recent snowfall has caused havoc across the country this week. While the bad weather has been the hot topic of conversation, employers have been left counting the cost of disruption.

According to the Federation of Small Businesses, 20 per cent of the UK working population did not make it into work on Monday and the cost to the economy of such absences may rise to £3 billion by the end of the week.
