‘10 times more jobseekers than jobs’

There are now 10 jobseekers on average for every position advertised in the UK, the TUC has suggested.

In an interview with the Observer newspaper, general secretary Brendan Barber outlined the trade union body’s analysis of job vacancies, which reveals that across the 12 inner London boroughs there are 4,275 vacancies and almost 71,000 unemployment benefit claimants.
