Culture ‘to blame’ for banking crisis
Behavioural and cultural factors played a greater part than remuneration practices in the global banking crisis, HR professionals have been told.
A review of global banking regulation by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) chairman Lord Turner found that excessive risk-taking was driven more by systemic behaviours than high levels of pay and bonuses, which have become the subject of political battering.
