Executive remuneration increased by 6.4 per cent in 2008
Directors of NHS trusts received an average pay increase of 6.4 per cent last year, far in excess of the government’s targets for restricting public-sector rises to 2 per cent, research suggests.The latest NHS Boardroom Pay Report from Incomes Data Services (IDS) found that the median salary for a chief executive of a foundation trust was £157,000, and that executives there gained an average rise of 7.6 per cent. At non-foundation trusts, chief executives earned £132,600 and the average rise was 5.7 per cent.
