Are you competent for a recession?

Competency frameworks can be valuable to any organisation. But because business conditions have changed so dramatically, there is the risk that they could now be seen by the rest of the business as an HR-driven project that is irrelevant. Many HR professionals are sticking rigidly to competencies that were developed in a very different climate. You may have spent hundreds of thousands of pounds and many months of work developing your framework, but can you honestly say your competencies match business needs in the current economic environment?
