Coaching needed to create leaders of sustainable future

Traditional leadership is in disarray and major change is needed if we are to win the battle against climate change and build a sustainable future, Sir John Whitmore, executive chairman of Performance Consultants International, told HRD conference delegates. “Two hundred years ago millions died of consumption [old term for tuberculosis]. Today it’s a different kind of consumption, but unless we change we are going to die in the same way,” he said. “The kind of change we need to bring about is not tinkering at the edges. Major, major change is needed.”
