Future-proofing HR

As outgoing president of the Public Sector People Managers’ Association (PPMA), this is my last column, so I’d like to leave you with some thoughts about the future of HR.Contextually, the profession will no doubt be operating in a more challenging environment, particularly as a result of the recession, but also as technology advances and expectations change. Many more organisations will expect something other than “technical” HR expertise and HR leaders and functions will need to demonstrate the ability to listen to the heartbeat of their organisations, as well as that of their employees.
