The Investors in People (IIP) award aims to create a culture of continuous improvement in organisations by developing people to meet business objectives. The benefits of this are clear: individuals gain skills and a sense of value, and organisations gain skilled, flexible and committed workforces.
We didn’t embark on IIP at Lincolnshire County Council for the credentials; we wanted it to be a driver for change. Our decision was largely in response to internal evaluation, which highlighted the need to improve management practices, engagement and communication.
