Reward scheme works a treat at Thorntons

A reward programme at Thorntons has allowed the chocolate retailer to reduce its overall labour turnover by 21 per cent, delegates at the HRD conference heard.The company realised that there was a direct correlation between growing labour turnover for store managers and rising customer complaints. There was also a link between sales performance and labour turnover, and the company found that new managers were, on average, performing 5 per cent less effectively than more experienced managers.
