European proposals would ensure equal treatment for contract and agency staff after 12 weeks

The government has launched a consultation today that could result in agency workers being given the same pay and conditions as permanent workers after 12 weeks in a job.The proposals to implement the European agency workers directive are based on an agreement made with the CBI and TUC last year and could give equal treatment in the workplace to more than one million contract and agency workers in the UK.
