Dishonourable members called to order

First it was the irresponsible bankers who let us down. Now it is the amoral MPs. But too much of the public debate has focused on whether the regulations governing the behaviour of bankers and MPs were adequate or not.

Whatever happened to personal responsibility? And is there a danger we are using the bankers and MPs as whipping boys so as to avoid the need to face uncomfortable issues closer to home?
