The Royles charter

On 1 May, when most people were preparing for their bank holiday break, Dean Royles, director of workforce and education at NHS Northwest, was doing something a little different: taking over as chair of the CIPD’s executive board.Royles succeeds Robin Jordan, who has chaired the board, the committee that oversees the institute’s operations, since 2003. When Royles joined the executive board in 2005, he was deputy director of workforce for the NHS at the Department of Health, having previously held positions including director of HR and communications at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust and HR director at East Midlands Ambulance Service.
