Training grants under strain as take-up soars
Employer take-up of state-funded training schemes has risen to unforeseen levels, making it likely that more restrictions will be imposed on their funding in future, PM has learnt.
Geoff Russell, chief executive of the Learning and Skills Council (LSC), wrote to training providers to say that more apprenticeship and Train to Gain places are being delivered than ever, partly as a result of the relaxing of rules to encourage take-up of training provision during the recession.
