On a point of disorder
I told myself I wouldn’t but, in the end, I just couldn’t resist it. I’m not breaking any laws or doing anyone any harm. Everyone else is doing it. In fact, it’s one of my duties, a part of my role. I’m entitled to it. Why shouldn’t I write about MPs’ expenses?One reason for not doing it is precisely because everyone else is. I also thought that by now it would have got boring. But far from it: every day brings new twists and turns. What started off as just another story about slightly sleazy politicians has become a debate about the nature of our democratic institutions.
