Cameron backs Tory “job clubs” initiative

The Conservatives plan to set up informal “job clubs” to help people who feel failed by job centres in the recession, delegates at a Tory conference on social action heard yesterday.

The free clubs, which have already been set up by many local Conservative members, offer advice on CV writing and interview techniques, as well as a chance to build communication skills and self-confidence. Other services range from assistance with job searching and volunteering to community support groups, where job-seekers share personal experiences.
