Former policy director replaces Turlough O’Sullivan at employer body

Danny McCoy has been appointed director-general of the Irish Business and Employers Confederation (Ibec), replacing the outgoing Turlough O’Sullivan from July 1.
McCoy, Ibec’s director of policy since 2005, is an economist who formerly worked with Central Bank and software company ESRI. He won out in what was reported to be a tight battle for the top job with Brendan McGinty, Ibec’s HR director.
