Equality bill changes ‘will impact on all society’

Two recent changes to the equality bill could have a far-reaching impact in society, an employment lawyer said.The bill has been amended to increase protection firstly for pregnant women, and secondly for people suffering dual discrimination. Under the first change it will be unlawful to treat a woman unfavourably because of pregnancy or maternity – at work or in shops and public services.
