Forty-five per cent of employers have increased flexible working among staff as a method of saving costs during the recession, according to a survey by the CBI and recruiters Harvey Nash. A further 24 per cent are considering such changes, while other popular measures being implemented are cuts in the use of agency staff (33 per cent) and reducing paid overtime (43 per cent).
