HR to have greater role in reformed City reward

Government plans to clean up compensation practices in the banking sector have been greeted with a “huge sigh of relief” in the City, according to industry experts.The Reforming financial markets white paper, published last week by the Treasury in response to the financial crisis, will give new powers to financial services watchdog the FSA to penalise banks whose pay and bonuses encourage excessive risk taking.
