Treasury orders inquiry into sexism in the City
Sexism and gender pay gaps in the UK’s finance sector will be investigated by a select committee inquiry called “Women in the City”.The Treasury committee, which includes only one woman, is calling for evidence on the role of women in the City and research on the number of women in senior roles in financial firms. Evidence is expected to cover pay and promotion inequality, flexible working and culture, sexual harassment and themes relating to corporate governance which emerged during its banking crisis inquiry.
