NHS urged to reduce staff sickness absence
The NHS must prioritise the health and well-being of its staff to improve patient care and save the service billions of pounds, according to a report out today.
The government-commissioned review of the health service workforce, carried out by occupational health expert Steve Boorman, called for NHS employers to do more to reduce sickness absence, which costs the service £1.7 billion a year
