Popping out for a code three

Phone operators at the Metropolitan Police’s control room in Lambeth have complained after rules were imposed requiring them to log their toilet breaks.Scotland Yard staff are required to record their lavatory visits as a “code three”. The policy came to light after an employee wrote to a staff magazine describing it as offensive and humiliating. But the force has no intention of dropping the requirement.
