Unemployment soars to 14-year high
Unemployment has risen to its highest level since 1995, with 2.44 million people out of work, according to official figures released today.
The UK unemployment rate now stands at 7.8 per cent – an increase of 2.4 per cent on last year and 0.7 per cent on the past quarter.
