Beware the savings trap
In difficult economic times, cutting graduate intake can seem like a money-saving exercise, yielding immediate results. However, firms must be careful not to fall into the trap of the last recession and end up with a dearth of candidates for management positions in a few years’ time. Disbanding graduate recruitment entirely can send out a negative message that is detrimental not only to employer brand, but also to the graduate job market as a whole.
